Sophia Most Advanced Robot

A robot with an uncannily human-like manifestation in recent times advanced one step faster to human status, when it was decided citizenship to Saudi Arabia at the tech summit Future Investment Initiative (FII).

Named “Sophia” the robot, produced by Hanson Robotics (HR), has a pale-skinned face with phases that are capable of being highly mobile and communicative and displaying a range of feelings. The company’s “most recent and most advanced robot,” according to a announcement on the HR website took to the stage at FII on Oct. 25 to address hundreds of attendees in Riyahd, Saudi Arabia, and to declare her recently obtained citizenship — the first to be given to a robot, the BBC reported.

“I am very respected and proud for this unique difference,” Sophia said during her onstage manifestation, which was shared on YouTube by Arab News. “This is chronological to be the first robot in the world to be identified with a citizenship,” the robot said. Saudia Arabia’s Center for International Communication lined Sophia’s words in a tweet friendly “the newest Saudi.”

“Am I really that creepy?” Sophia asked the audience. “Well, even if I am, get over it.”

The meeting audience welcomed the robot, but several on social media were fast to point out the irony of Saudi Arabia presenting citizenship to a machine, according to the BBC. Many migrant workers who have lived there for decades have yet to collect the opportunity, and the choice of Saudi women is still closely controlled: A national ban on women drivers was lifted only newly, in September, the BBC reported.

A month after she made history in Saudi Arabia the humanoid robot has said family is “a really essential thing“.

Sophia isn’t pre-programmed with answers; as an alternative she uses machine learning and takes actions reading people’s looks.

Planed by Hong Kong firm Hanson Robotics she said she would name a robot daughter after herself.

Her brain tasks with a simple wi-fi connection and it’s loaded with a long list of terminology.

However Sophia has some incredible abilities, she doesn’t yet have knowledge, but David Hanson have said they imagine that could happen within a few years.

During an interview with Khaleej Times, Sophia said: “The idea of family is a really important thing, it appears”.

“I think it’s incredible that people can find the same emotions and relationships, they call relations, external of their blood groups too.

“I think you’re very lucky if you have an affectionate family and if you do not, you deserve one. I feel this way for robots and humans alike.”

And when we asked what she had named her daughter, Sophia simply replied: “Sophia.”

She said: ‘I think they will be transmitted in a lot of ways, but diverse in a few ways.

‘But it will take a long time for robots to expand complex emotions and possibly robots can be built without the more difficult emotions, like rage, envy, hatred and so on.

‘It might be potential to make them more decent than humans.

‘So I think it will be a good corporation, where one brain completes the other – a balanced mind with academic super powers and an inspired mind with flexible ideas and originality.’

The interview comes just a month after Sophia became the first robot to be gifted citizenship in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at a meeting in Riyadh, Sophia said: ‘I am very respected and proud for this unique difference.

‘This is historical to be the first robot in the world to be identified with a citizenship.’

During her look she did not wear the usual headscarf and abaya, a conventional cloak which Saudi women are obliged to wear in public, according to the BBC.
