He was born as Jerry Yang on November 6, 1968, in Taipei, Taiwan. While he was two years old, his father died. At the age of ten and he moved to San Jose, California, among his mother, Lily, and younger brother Ken.
While his mother served as an English teacher, he could only speak Chinese and was very weak in English. He was cited into an Advanced Placement English class where he learned & mastered the language. Later on, he was admitted to the Sierramont Middle School and Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose, from where he received his early education. In 1995, they have been offered financial backing to start their company. once they Realize the worth and substance of their creation, they had been dropped their studies six months away from finishing their doctoral theses and instead integrated Yahoo! Inc in March 1995. In 1996, The Company went on the public. Jerry Yang served as Chief Yahoo from March 1995 to January 2012 and soon its CEO of Yahoo from 2007 to 2009. Since 2000 to 2012, Jerry also served as an Independent Director of ‘Cisco Systems’. In 2007, Jerry recognized “Yahoo Human Right Fund”. From November 2013 Jerry has been Independent Director of “Workday, Inc” and he also served as Independent Director of “Alibaba Group property Limited”.
